What It Is // Video Resume

What a video resume actually is

A video resume, also called a video cover letter, is a short recorded introduction you send with your application. Instead of reading that you communicate well, a hiring manager sees it.

It earns its keep when the decision is close: competitive roles with a deep applicant pool, career changers whose paper history does not tell the whole story, and jobs where presence and communication are part of the work.

The Session // How It Works

From prep to finished PitchReel

Prep The Message

Before the camera turns on, I help you settle what you are saying: who you are, what you do well, and why this role. Bring the job posting. No memorized script, just talking points.

Record It Properly

Dress for the interview you want, solid colors over busy patterns and logos. Professional camera, lighting, and audio handle the rest. I keep rolling until you have a take worth sending.

Get It Delivered

Your PitchReel comes back edited and captioned, cut to a length a busy hiring manager will finish. You get the file and a link you can share.

Straight Talk // When Not To Send One

Send it alongside your resume, not instead of it

Not every employer wants video. Some application systems take a PDF and nothing else. Some teams screen without names or faces on purpose. Read the posting first.

Keep your conventional resume as it is and add one line linking to your video cover letter. Anyone curious can watch. Anyone who is not loses nothing. Where video is ruled out, use the PitchReel in a direct email instead.

Job hunting is not a local activity, and neither is this. HindLight Media is based in Rome, GA, and produces PitchReels for candidates outside Georgia too. It starts with a video call.

FAQ // Common Questions

PitchReels questions

What is a video resume?

A video resume, or video cover letter, is a short professionally produced video you send with a job application. It covers what a written cover letter covers, except the employer also hears how you speak and sees how you carry yourself.

How long should a video cover letter be?

Short. I aim for 60 to 90 seconds: enough for a clear introduction, a couple of specifics about your experience, and why you want the role. Someone screening a stack of applications has limited time.

Do employers actually watch video resumes?

It depends on the employer, the role, and how you send it. A hiring manager you email directly is more likely to press play than an application system that only accepts a PDF. Send a link alongside a conventional resume, never in place of one.

What should I wear and prepare?

Wear what you would wear to the interview, solid colors over busy patterns or logos. Bring the job posting and two or three specifics you want the employer to know. I work out talking points with you before recording, so it sounds like you.
