Vertical reels
Camera-roll footage, fully produced
Swoops start with footage that already exists. Someone sends what is on their phone and gets back something watchable. These four show the range: a trip edit, a highlight, a ten-second cutdown, an event recap. Details at Swoop Service, or Selfie to Sales for one clip.
Video cover letters that stand out
A PitchReel is a video cover letter. Rather than a resume that gets skimmed, the hiring manager watches the candidate speak. More at PitchReels.
How to judge a video portfolio
Video portfolios get judged on vibes. If you are about to spend real money, check three things on every clip.
Framing And Light
Watch where the subject sits in the frame and how the background falls off behind them. Lighting separates looking like your company from looking like a webcam.
Audio First
Turn the sound up. Clean audio decides whether a viewer finishes the video, and it is the first thing a rushed shoot loses.
Pacing And Captions
Notice how fast each cut moves and whether the captions carry the message with the sound off. That is how much of the audience watches, on a phone.
Not everything I make is public. Training, onboarding and internal video usually stays inside the company that paid for it, so if you want to see something closer to your industry, ask.
Portfolio questions
Can I see work in my industry?
Start with the filters at the top of this page. If your industry is not there, ask and I will send what I am cleared to share. Training, onboarding, and recruiting video is usually built for internal use, so that kind of work stays inside the company that commissions it rather than reaching a public page.
How long does a typical project take?
It depends on the format. Edits built from footage you already have move fastest, since there is no shoot day to schedule. Anything that needs a shoot day on location takes longer. Dates get set on a video call up front.
Do you shoot on location?
Yes. HindLight Media is based in Rome, GA, and travels to wherever the work happens: your office, a shop floor, a job site, or a venue. Austin holds an FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate, so licensed aerial can be part of the shoot.
Can I use my own footage?
Yes, and it is a real service rather than a workaround. Swoop Service turns what is on your camera roll into a finished video, and Selfie to Sales does the same for one selfie-style clip.
